Abedin Gilo Lame’s Enduring Legacy
More than twenty years after his passing, Abedin Lame continues to inspire generations through his annual tournament, the Partizani program he founded, and ongoing tributes in media and documentaries.
The Annual Abedin Lame Cup
The most vibrant part of his legacy is the Turneu Mbarëkombëtar “Abedin Lame” — Albania’s premier national youth wrestling tournament, held every year at the Asllan Rusi Palace of Sports in Tirana.
FK Partizani Wrestling Section
Abedin founded the wrestling section at FK Partizani in 1983 and coached it until 2000. The club won 15 national titles under his leadership and continues to thrive today.
